HOPE!

I was up too late listening....and then woke up to
Rendell, Casey in office,
and Patrick Murphy claiming victory!

I woke up to hope!
A great day and a wave of change much needed.

Pumpkin Fest 2006

We love FALL!

Took in the festivities at None Such Farms in Buckingham last weekend.
A beautiful windy and chilly fall day!

Keegan enjoyed the corn tunnel.

And the wagon train

Keegan has decided to be Buzz Lightyear for Halloween

this year, but he keeps changing his mind. We have the
costume all ready, and I even have some pics of him in it,
but I will wait till the actual holiday for that. This week he wants to be Tarzan anyway. And a Power Ranger. As for me, I have no idea yet, and have to work the actual evening of Halloween. I will figure something out the weekend before.

The political craziness is upon us as anyone who turns on the radio can attest to. At the newspaper, it is always fun and amusing. We had the Democratic candidate for the 8th congressional district here in Bucks County (Patrick Murphy) come in today for a mini press conference. Should prove for the some good reading, and I think this is the first actual politician (and someone who stood on the same podium as Clinton the week before) that I have shoken hands with.

Boston at the end of September

I'm a little behind the times here, but figured I would finally post a few pics from out jaunt up to Boston to see Janee, Derek and the new baby girl Astrid.

This one is Keegan and the "Make way for Ducklings" statue in the park in Boston.

Celtic Classic

The Celtic Classic is going on in Bethlehem this weekend.
We are going to try to make it up there in the morning.

The comments are the best part

Read the interview...and then read the comments....as always, they are amusing.

"Attaboy, Mr. President. Nice to see that little lapdog Wallace get bitch-slapped like he deserves. "

President Clinton fights back on Fox News

This is great! A link to the full article is at the bottom of this blog.
The interview should air next week, but probably will be edited to death.
Gotta love the internet for getting the full transcript.

A friend said it best when we were talking about waking up the other morning to Bill Clinton's voice instead of you know who's. It was so soothing to wake up with hope instead of fear.

It still smells of sulpher here

This is all we americans have been hearing about all day...thanks to the media.
But it is rather hillarious. Like a fight in high school with each side calling the other side childish.

OH MY GOD!
What are we doing to the youth of today! The part of this article that really blows me away is that this film is being distributed to schools as learning tool while ABC claims that some of it is a "dramatization" as in FALSE!

And if some of you don't have the time to read to the end......

"The 9/11 commission report echoes his denial, and found that Clinton's Cabinet gave "its blessing" for a CIA plan to capture bin Laden and determined that ex-CIA Director George Tenet squashed the plan.

The third contested scene focuses on Albright, who is depicted alerting Pakistani officials in advance of a 1998 U.S. missile strike against bin Laden in Afghanistan - over the objections of the Pentagon. The movie claims the tip-off allowed bin Laden to escape.

But the 9/11 commission reported that it was a member of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff - not Albright - who met with a senior Pakistani Army official prior to the strike to "assure him the missiles were not coming from India.""

Ok, so they had at least one dust storm...

There is a picture of a child under one here at Base Camp...
very inspiring. Also a woman who is pregnant. A friend in London who conceived her daughter at BM and I have talked about getting back with the young ones...but it's really the economics that have kept us. I am really sad I didn't go this year however and don't think I can let another year pass by.

It's awe inspiring.

Burning Man 2006

I miss the Playa! Have been in touch with a few LA folks who went this year..but no pics yet.
However, there are many online you can find - I think everyone agrees that the most amazing structure this year was built by some Belgians and wrongly nicknamed "the Waffle".

Some other good coverage out of San Francisco of course. A better description of the "Waffle" than I could give.

I heard from someone who has gone for 9 years, that this was an amazing year on the Playa.
The technology in the middle of the dessert. The weather....the people, the community.

I would like to get home next year or at least 2008.
Who's with me.....

"intersex" fish

Seems people may be getting up in arms about the possibility that this could happen to humans. Or is it already? Intersex fish

Just a quick note about the passing of Steve Irwin
who was truely living his life to the hilt...doing what he loved.
He was a great entertainer, animal lover and friend of the Wiggles and he will be missed. Hopefully one of his kids will follow in his footsteps.

One more for posterity

Final got Photoshop at home.....now the fun starts

Summer coming to a close

We started out the month of August relaxing and partying by the water alot...it was really hot here...
And now it's been amazingly beautiful for going on a week. Havent needed the air conditioner I've installed in Keegan's room at all.

There were 2 weekends in a row of friends and old roommates from Damon's house visiting.
First Kristin, Michael and Ian back from Minnesota, and then Dan and Megan in from Utah.
It was great to see everyone and hang outside alot. But did I take any pictures! No!
I don't know what I was thinking. We were at Colin and Christine's pool both weekends, and then went down to Seaside Heights for a night and 2 days with the gang. Keegan had a great time with Ike. He loves to follow him around and do everything that he does. He completely got walloped by the ocean and came back for more...a great time was had by all.

The news at work is that we have purchased the Area Guide Book. A 37 year old resident's and traveler's companion book for Bucks and Hunterdon Couties. The woman who started it was hit very hard by the last 3 floods and decided she just couldn't do it. So she approached Joe and Bridget about it and now we have a deadline of November 24 to get the 2007 one out.
CRAZZZZZYYYY!

Busy through the holidays...but very exciting.

I wish I could format more, but am in Safari.

Fun on the river

The lovely river at tube level. Damon took the pics through a plastic bag. And Keegan peeing.....

A few weeks back, a group of us went for a leisurely Wednesday evening float down the river from 11th street to near the bridge.

Keegan's 3rd Birthday - for real!

Yeah! I got it to work. Nothing like restarting it 20 times...does the trick everytime!

So here goes the photo essay - for those of your who couldn't make it.

Opening the bike on July 3rd morning.

Much debate over
this in the last few months for me. Wanted to get him a Big Wheel, but didn't order it early enough online, then, no stores carry them. He's big enough for the 12" two wheelers with training
wheels, so guess what.....

That's what he got.

The cake was made by Christine Ahearne-Zurkan.
She offered, and did a far better job than I could do.
Keegan requested a purple and red bumblebee.
(We did a bug theme for those of you that didn't know.)
He was very happy as you can see....it was huge!

Making a wish.....

Keegan's party - technical difficulties

Greetings all... Now that I have logged in on Firefox, I can post like a normal person again, with links and formatting, but now I am having difficulties with my camera. It keeps saying it is in PC Mode when I plug it into my computer and it won't recognize it. This really bums me out because I took a bunch of photos off it just a couple of weeks ago, and I have a whole bunch of great pics of Keegan's party this past weekend that I would really like to share!

We camped and partied over at Tinicum Park in beautiful Erwinna on the Delaware. It was a great time as always, and seemed easier than last years....but still alot of work. I kindof streamlined it. Keegan got alot of gifts - all through the last week - with a few more coming in today. It is time to sort and sift through for an upcoming yard sale at the end of July.

I guess I can load them at work tomorrow if I have time.....bummers.

We are in the throws of a great thunderstorm here. Starting to calm down now.

I'll keep trying.

Musings on freeze

Posting this tonight...but wrote it last night. I heard on the radio driving home tonight that the NJ Govenor and others have come to some sort of agreement on the budget. So gambling will resume in a few days.

Last Night...
So today started the first day of a government freeze in New Jersey. Corsine is playing hardball with the budget which was supposed to be in place by July 1. They waited for the 4th of July weekend to be over, but now, gambling has been halted...yes that means the govenor has ordered the casinos in AC shut, no lottery, and the state parks..such as Island Beach State Park at the shore are shut down. An interesting think to watch and see how it resolves itself.

On the local front, flood cleanup is going as can be expected. The Herald flood issue hit the streets today.
I checked out the problem I am having with buttons to format text and make hyperlinks in the Blogger help section, and it appears to be a Safari thing. I will check back in on Mozilla next time so I can get the link to the BCH website up here.

Oh hell, here's a few others.

Instructable.com

For those of you who have yet to check this out.
http://www.instructables.com/
It's a very cool website put up by the creative folks at Squid Labs outside San Fran.
Something for everyone, and they tell you how to do it.
A huge collaborative effort, very cool.
One of these days something will pop into my head to post.

And with no connection except that I was looking through Burning Man pics last night and missing it terribly.
(And how fit and tan I was)
Here is a lovely pic of the playa entitled simply,

The first of July

My brother says daily posts help the creativity flow. Something to do each day like a journal is the idea of a blog.
I may get on here only every 2 days...but I will try it.

My camera is acting up because I loaded flood pics on my work computer yesterday. It doesn't like to go back and forth since it is an older camera.

Keegan loves the Photobooth program on my computer.
Here's a great pic for wallpaper.

Tomorrow, bugs bugs everywhere. Final prep is underway for Keegan's birthday party next Saturday,
as the flood cleanup begins along the Delaware.

Blogger annoyance

A hot June evening, the river flooding, and all I want to do is get on my blog to post some pics and some words, and I log on and my original "glowday" blog is no where to be found on my dashboard. After searching a bit, it appears I am one of the only folks to experience this. Perhaps it's because I am back on a Mac at home...who knows.

Today was a Wednesday at home because we in the Delaware Valley are in the throws of yet another flood.
This one is supposed to crest at 2am this morning and be higher than the flood of April 2005, which my friends was a big one.
It's been a crazy day of activity in Frenchtown and around. Sandbags, moving trucks, bridge closures, and community hangin out. Some will stay up all night to see the crest, The rest of us will rise in the morning and walk down to the river to access the damage. There is much talk among those who know of the development happening around the whole river valley and no proper drainage causing this to happen more and more. I predict at least one each year....but we'll see. '55 to 2005 (2) to 2006. A bit strange....weather patterns changing too?

I'll attach some pics..and hopefully post more on a regular basis now.
Pics are eerily similar to pics from 2005

LBI 2006

I have to post some of the pics from last weekend at the shore with the two "jennis"
It was a lovely, though rainy part of it, weekend.
The pics are the most recent that I have of Keegan.
Still having issues with Blogger. I cannot format my type which is making me nuts.
Must be the Intel based Mac thing.

Here's my monkey...looking very mature on the beach.

In front of the house...saying "cheeseburger"...hence, the face.

At the beach park

And this one, just had to add. At the bridge watching the flood.

Bye for now!
